Yeah Malaysia sucks in some ways but we also excel in many ways. So it all depends on where you focus on. If you are a heavy internet user, Playing MMORPG 24 hours 7 days a week is the only thing you do in life, then Malaysia is truly suck for you. Our broadband connection really does suck on a regular basis. Today the stupid TM screamyx got problem again and damn slow. Or if you love politics, then you would think Malaysian politics is messy or suck compared to other developed nations. On the other hand, if you're retiree looking for a place where you can live peacefully and find a lot of cheap delicious food. Then Malaysia is a paradise for you. Wait, wait, Malaysia a peaceful place ? Yes Yes, according to Global peace index.

Or if you like FOOTBALL. Our Astro Channel airs plenty of Live EPL, Italian, Spanish and even German football matches on a regular basis.
Or you LIKE NATURE and FLORA and Fauna ? We have too much of it.
Or you hate earthquake, twister and volcano eruption ? We have none of them.
Or you hate to have your children get enlisted and blow shits up in middle east or some poor oil rich nations? We are a peaceful nation and we do no go to war.
If you are rich foreigners with some cash to spare, it's not difficult to find a place that is guarded and gated (IE : Mont Kiara )and live a super peaceful and affordable life.
(Note: I'm not a government employed shill promoting Malaysia, I'm just a regular citizen seeing the good sides of Malaysia while also taking notes of the bad one)

Well i am a malaysian. Malaysia is just not so bad country. The worst thing about Malaysia is perhaps the driving attitude of its people. The rest, i can tolerate them.
I disagree of your stats. 2.5 compared to the Chinese and 3.0 compared to US... it's a total mockery to us! The stat is sth we should be embarrassed of. Look, Chinese is not 2.5x to the size of Malaysia and US is NOT 3.0x to the size of Malaysia. So, that means, our "peaceful rate" sucks.. we should've been sth like 5-10x to them. I know you might think I am an anti-Malaysia and yes, I am anti in TM and ASTRO. But, the stats don't lie, my friend. Even though we're peaceful, we're still screwed up in the peaceful thingies.

1) Wikipedia is not a fully-reliable source of information. Anyone can simply edit any information on the page.
And please take note that China and US are way bigger than our country.
2) Astro airs football matches. But do you actually know that Astro censors almost everything? They censors profanity (or simply known as vulgar words or bad words). Even the word "bitch" is censored. It's not a real vulgar word. The word "bitch" is allowed in any country to be aired on television, cinemas and radio stations. (P/S: The word "F**k" is a real vulgar word and it is censored and banned from any televisions and radio stations. But it can be played on music and films)
3) Speak of nature. China and US has lot more breath-taking, stunning panoramas than Malaysia does. And you know what? Malaysia's government always pollute the natural attractions.
4) This is a geographical statement. Not a COUNTRY statement.
5) Please compare to US, or even Singapore. Peaceful enough? No.
6) If everyone lives in Mont Kiara, that place will still become a dangerous, red-lighted place.
We have corrupted government, racist people, people who kept in the dark and not knowing how Malaysia sucks, unwelcoming citizens, and people who attacks other religion.

Agree with most of the comments here, Malaysia is far from peaceful. Ever heard of "dormant volcanoes"? well tis is what Malaysia is. There are so many racism here and the Malays are so god-damned ensconced into their fantasy world where they falsely believed that they are the most resonance race as compared to Chinese & Indian (that being the 3 main races in Malaysia), and this belief will cost Malaysia as it has by alienating Malaysia from diversification as the fucking Malays believed that they are more superior than anyone else they refuse to collaborate and compromise.

i have been to 115 countries inmy life, speak a number of languages, started as seaman now im airline pilot...american and white. compared to the philippines and indonesia this country is paradise . peaceful, nice weather and people, people educated and speak many languages and multi cultural, entreprenurial. food is good and cheap, yes cigs and booze are cheaper in philippines BUT i dont drink or smoke. i like walking down the street and nobody bothers me ! i cant do that in the philippines soooo many beggers and taxis and GRO (if you dont know what is a GRO google it ha ha) philippines immigration is a joke, complicated and expensive. fruit, vegetable, gasoline half the price and road sooo much better than philippines. i could go on for days but wait dont ask me ask the millions of filipinos who live here (must be a reason !) so for all you people who dont like malaysia just go and more room for me !!! 90 days visa free , go to brunei next day 90 more !! so easy , philippines 21 days and tick tock tick tock, visa extension 100 dollars ... 100 dollars a month to put a stamp in my passport !? no thanks im staying in malaysia. here just 6% service tax on some items in philippines 12 % vat on all items. hey philippines you want to make it sooo expensive and complicated to live in your filthy destitute country ? no problem ... there is a solution and its called malaysia !! thanks for reading
Well I visited malaysia about a year ago after hearing rave reviews about some of the food over there. To my disappointment though, I have to say that some of the food was absolutely atrocious.
I've tried food like kuay teow and curry laksa and all those kind of stuff. Even tried the famous chicken rice and to be honest they all taste pretty average.
Back here in Australia the food seems to be much better.
